SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA (June 16, 2021) – The Capistrano Unified School District (CUSD) Board of Trustees today passed a resolution in support of Spent Fuel Solutions, officially joining the coalition as a supporting member. CUSD joins more than 120 local governments, elected officials, utilities, environmental groups, labor leaders, Native American leaders, business organizations and residents who have joined Spent Fuel Solutions since the coalition launched in March 2021. Spent Fuel Solutions continues to expand its membership and advocate for the removal of spent nuclear fuel from the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) to a federally licensed storage and/or disposal facility.
